Claire Robinson is a Franchise Consultant at The Franchise Consultant, based in Plymouth. With a passion for helping people build and grow businesses, Claire has been involved in the inception and running of franchise-related businesses since 1997, bringing a depth of first-hand franchising experience that is rare in the industry.
Background
Claire’s background spans franchising from every angle. In 2010, she founded Extra Help, a home-help and domestic cleaning franchise network providing services to elderly people, parents, and busy professionals across the UK. Extra Help has grown to over 35 franchises nationwide, giving Claire direct, lived experience of building a franchise system from scratch, recruiting and supporting franchisees, and managing an active franchise network.
Alongside this, Claire served as CEO of the Approved Franchise Association (AFA), a non-profit organisation providing accreditation and support to franchising businesses, making her the first female franchisor to lead a franchise association in the UK. The AFA has since merged with the British Franchise Association, further strengthening the sector’s self-regulatory framework.

As a Franchise Consultant at TFC, Claire assists business owners with every aspect of franchising: developing a clear route to market and strategy, producing the documentation and collateral needed to attract franchisees, and supporting evaluation and reporting processes throughout the franchise development journey. Her experience as a working franchisor means she understands the practical realities of what she is building for clients, not just the theory.
Claire is also a bfa Lifestyle Ambassador, reflecting her ongoing involvement with and commitment to the British Franchise Association’s standards and community.
