Paul van Staden grew up in Johannesburg and was exposed to franchising from a very early age helping his father with four franchised Wimpy Bars in the Johannesburg CBD. Paul then joined KFC in SA as a Franchise Director, but soon identified the opportunity and acquired the rights to a territory opening 12 KFC restaurants. Next he turned his attentions to Pizza Hut and took the franchise from inception to a listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 5 years.
He then made the decision to move to the UK with his Yorkshire wife and two daughters. Here he was instrumental in the roll out of 50 Pizza Hut delivery stores before moving on to take up a post in Istanbul as General Manager for the Easter Mediterranean Region for PepsiCo Restaurants.
Paul then took on the challenge of running the Hard Rock Franchise across the Gulf States before once more returning to the UK. Prior to joining The Franchise Consultant team, he spent time in franchising with Regus and Remax. Paul works with both franchisors and franchisees ensuring that they achieve the best results from their investments.
Paul has even managed to squeeze in an MBA degree from Strathclyde University in between his travels. Outside of franchising, Paul is an avid bad golfer and enjoys long walks with his dog on weekends.
